• Provide high quality online and site courses
• Follow the updated Social Science Framework "to teach content, develop inquiry-based critical thinking skills, improve reading comprehension and expository writing ability, and promote an engaged and knowledgeable citizenry in history and the related social sciences."
• Promote quality content, inquiry, literacy, and citizenship.
• Provide suggestions for social science standards-based curriculum and online resources
• Present lessons and primary source documents to promote discussion and historical critical thinking skills.
• Provide EE oversight for Social Studies portfolio review
• Continue to develop and maintain the Social Studies department webpage
• Be available by phone or e-mail to assist students, parents, or ESs with any social science-related questions
