The overall goal of the Academic Department is to provide high quality, standards-based instruction, from qualified, Effective Educators, to achieve academic excellence in our students.

• Support English, Math, Science, Social Studies, VAPA, EL, Foreign Language, RTI and Guidance departments in achieving their goals.
• Expand both resource center and online programs and course offerings to address the needs of the students.
• Recruit and retain qualified educators who strive to motivate and engage all of their students in learning.
• Provide training for students, parents and teachers in using the online platform.
• Use peer review to ensure that the instructors are growing and developing in their instructional skills and their courses are evaluated for the appropriate level of rigor, types of assessments, student engagement, and use of technology.
• Provide professional development opportunities to help instructors enhance Instruction, use technology and develop online courses.
• Ensure that all a-g students are instructed by a qualified Effective Educator either in person, online, or with an a-g Portfolio Review.
• Ensure that a-g finals are administered per school policy in a variety of locations.
• Maintain and update the school websites.
