1. Education and availability of Physical Education Standards for Parents and
ESs:
What: In order to better educate our families we would like
access to the “parent
friendly” version to share with students and parents.
Who: Support Department (access Challenge Standards and adapt)
When: Approximately 30 days
2. Motivation of Students that Dislike Physical Education:
What: List of ideas that incorporate Physical Education components:
Showcase achievements, i. e. newsletter, achievement T shirts, pursue Presidential
Fitness Class, assist older students with self-monitoring activities, checklist
of achievement, detailed PE log, Purchase exercise videos
Who: Teachers, Support Department
When: Within 30 days, ongoing
3. Cross-Curricular Curriculum:
What: Train parents how to incorporate PE Activities into other subjects, using
resources/writing across curricular areas. i.e. Develop a research paper on
the sports during the Roman Period, Calculate heart rate, BMI for math, discuss
the
Physics of jumping rope or kicking a ball, keep PE journals to use writing
on a daily basis.
Who: Teachers (ESs)
When: Begin within 30 days, ongoing
Questions
1. PE in park cancelled (Why)?
2. Some activities limited to 25%- 50% of funding, why?
3. Why can’t team sports be supported and funded?
