Transcript Analysis:
1) Why low credits when entering?-Less distractions, focusing more, students can often complete the credits quicker when they work at their own pace.-or are we assigning credits too easily?
Algebra:
1) Typo in Algebra section-Algebra is missing an l and Algebra 2 is listed twice.
2) Encourage more 8th graders to take Algebra-how many more students should be taking it?
3) Not many students are looking at going on to 4 year colleges based on A-G participation.
ELD:
1) Typo in paragraph "above two charts," yet only one chart was given
Special Ed:
1) We're getting more high school and primary special ed students
Surveys:
1) p. 13 bulk of graduates are continuing education in some manner
2) p. 14 positive experiences good to see, charter seems to be fulfilling home school needs.
3) Individualized curriculum is our whole philosophy so it's good to see the positive graphic representation
4) P. 15 Edusoft and ESLRs-would like to see 100%
5) P. 16 Edusoft numbers have probably already improved- positive comments are nice to see
Comments on the meaning of data represented- 1/3 of our entering 10th, 11th, and 12th graders have less than expected number of credits:
1) That many students have not had a "successful" experience so far
2) We make student expectations/modifications for each student-tailoring towards their learning style
3) Individualized curriculum
4) Less distractions
5) Allows students to focus more on schoolwork
6) Students can complete their credits at a quicker pace
7) Sometimes they are able to get one on one help from parents
8) Or are we assigning credits too easily?
Comments on the meaning of data represented- what does it mean for our school that over 90% of our students have access to a computer and over 80% have access to the Internet:
1) We can offer a lot of learning choices based on technology and the wide variety of curriculum available
2) A higher percentage of students getting onto the internet would be a good goal
Sidenotes from group relating to technology:
A listing of computer software in ES handbook would be great.
Power On laptops are working well-but the towers aren't. The ESs have complained that she seem rebuilt, cheap, and junky. They should also have a word processing program included.
Maybe we could get some computer techies or repair people that would be service providers that could go out and work with people on their computers for repairs or extra instruction.
