Connecting Waters Charter School
Sherri Nelson, Director
Look what’s happening in Waterford!
Our wonderful Connecting Waters Students have been asked to participate in Waterford’s Practice Pal Program. This is a wonderful opportunity for our students! Our students would spend time with students grade K-4 and provide help in reading or math. This is perfect for high school students who are seeking community service hours, a career in teaching or you may just want to help. Parents along with their elementary students can also take part in this program.
The district will also provide a ROP Child Development opportunity for our high school students. Their head start director will oversee this project.
Do you have the “I don’t know what to do for science blues”? If so, the Science Olympiad program might be the program for you. The Stanislaus Office of Education is organizing the annual Science Olympiad to be held April 27 at Hickman School. The program consists of individual school teams of up to 15 students, 4th - 6th grade, a captain/or assistant. A team may participate in one or all of the events on the schedule. Each school participates in a minimum of two events. We need one adult per five students. We need a credentialed teacher to be a coach, parents to help and of course students to participate. If you are interested please call. For more information or to register for any of the above programs please call our Waterford office at 209-874-9463.
Looking Ahead…
Do you sing, act, read poetry, play an instrument, paint, or have neat projects that you would like to share with other students? If you do, you will want to plan to be part of the open house this spring. Let us know how you would like to participate.
Our desire is to make Connecting Waters Charter School the best that it can be for our students. What are some events and programs that you would like to see take place in your school? We want to hear from you. You can contact us at our Waterford office by calling 800-808-9895 or 874-9463.
