I can’t believe that it’s November already! I hope that your year is going well. We must be the most fortunate charter school in the area because we have the greatest Parent Council that I’ve seen. We have a diverse group that wants to make a difference for our school. Some of you may have missed the opportunity to be part of our official parent council. Of course, everyone is welcome to attend. We currently have a few openings that we need to fill on our Parent Council. Our charter school is governed by the Parent Council. We have three remaining scheduled meetings, December 10, 2002, March 11, 2002, and June 10, 2003. If you are interested in serving your school in this way we would like for you to call our office so that we can include you in our lottery. This is a requirement for our charter, accreditation, and SB740 waiver. Simply call our office at 874-9463 and let us know to include you.

We are moving forward and planning our high school graduation ceremony in May. Our tentative date is May 22, 2003. We would like for everyone to participate in the graduation ceremony. Please submit the “graduation participation information form” as soon as possible. We will also be taking orders for class rings now. So make sure that you call Loie at the Waterford office today to receive your class ring packet.

We have some wonderful parents who are putting together a 2002-2003 yearbook. If you missed the picture day you can submit a 1 x 1 ½ or mini wallet size photo to be included in the yearbook. Also, please submit other pictures of students engaged in school activities. Please note that you may not receive your original pictures back. We would like to have an eighth grade and senior page. Please call if you would like to be involved in the yearbook.
