When:
Monday, December 6th
Where:
Ceres/Modesto Learning Center
Ceres, CA
(209)-541-1531
Time:
Connecting Waters students are learning
some great character traits every month.
So far, students have learned about being attentive and obedient. These are very important skills for homeschoolers. Our charter school is very proud to present
these tools to our parents and students in that they help parents with the
schooling process. Being attentive helps
the student to listen carefully and therefore finish their work in a more timely manner.
Obedience helps to get instruction completed in a quicker, and
more cheerful
manner. Aren’t these
traits you would want your children to have so teaching in the home could be
more pleasant and efficient?
Please come to
the next assembly and learn about truthfulness. All assemblies are held every first Monday of
the month.
Prizes are awarded to students who recite the “I will”
statements each month. These are the
statements that the students will be reciting for the month of December:
Obedience
Cheerfully
carrying out the directions and wishes of those who are responsible for me.
·
I will obey my authorities immediately.
·
I will have a cheerful attitude.
·
I will complete all that I am expected to do.
·
I will not complain.
·
I will go the
“extra mile.”

Christmas Around The World
Tuesday, December 21
6:30 - 8:00 pm
Waterford High School Auditorium
This musical production will be presented by students in our Drama, Dance, and
Sign Language Classes, as well as other talented students in CWCS. The evening
begins with samplings of different cultural dishes to taste and crafts to make
from around the world.
The children gather for a Christmas Party as the production begins with
"It's Almost Christmas Time". As the show progresses, each drama
student, dressed in native costume, shares with the others how winter holidays
are celebrated in his or her country.
The Dance students join in the fun by performing dances to songs such as "Joyeux Noel" from
People all around the world celebrate in different ways at this time of year,
and all the children rejoice together as the production ends in "Joy To The World"!
Everyone is invited!
Volunteers are needed to make cultural samplers and prepare native crafts for
the children to make. If this interests you, please contact Julie Hilbert at ShananSchool@hotmail.com. Thank you!

We Had a Great Day at
The Aquarium trip was great! Most
of the families arrived early or on time, but they let in the late ones this year, no charge. Some
families didn't show up, which is sad because there were so many that would
have liked to take part in the trip but thought there was no more room.
They had new items this year for homeschool day that they didn't have last year. One
was a room full of activities in math and language arts for the
elementary kids, and tips for the parents. They also had added a bridge
and a Cannery display. They had a schedule to give each of us of all the
feedings and special activities for the kids.
They even had 2-3 tours for teens called "Aquarium Careers"!
It was a wonderful day!!
