ENGLISH LITERACY / ENGLISH DEPARTMENT

The purpose of this webpage is to offer parents, students, and ESes a place to locate current, practical, and effective recommendations and information regarding all aspects of learning to read  and write.
“ Literacy is the key to participating and succeeding in a democratic society and global economy. Without the ability to read, write, and communicate with competence and confidence, our children will have limited opportunities for academic and career success. Reading, writing, listening, and speaking are the foundation for learning.”

Why is Writing Important?
"Try to imagine what life would be like if we did not write things down. How do you use writing in your daily life? If we think about the answers to these questions we can understand to some extent why it is important. Writing communicates to others our feelings, ideas, and information about ourselves and our world, past, present, and for the future!"
