Microsoft Office 2003 setup instructions

 

Note: You must be logged on to your computer as a user with administrative priveleges to install any new programs.

1.      Insert the Microsoft Office 2003 Install Disk into the CD drive. A setup wizard should appear on your desktop within about a minute. If it does not, open My Computer and open the CD drive (Usually the D: drive). There will be two files named setup. Open the one that is an application, not the HTM file. (See image below)

2.      When the setup wizard appears and gets to the “User Information” screen insert your User Name and Initials. Change the Organization name to CWCS. Then click Next  

3.      At the next screen (Type of installation); you don’t need to change anything. Just click Next.

4.      At the next screen (Summary); click Install. Installation will take a couple of minutes.

5.      Once installation is complete you will see the “Setup Completed” screen. Check the box for “Check the Web for updates and additional downloads”, then click Finish.

6.      You will be taken to a web page for “Downloads Home Page – Microsoft Office Online.” Click the yellow button on the right to “Check for Microsoft Updates.”

7.      At the next screen click “Express” and follow the instructions on the next screen to install any recommended updates.

Important: This licensed program is for use on Connecting Waters Charter School owned and CWCS employee owned computers only. (Check with IT Coordinator for further info) Use on any other computers is expressly forbidden. Education Specialists must maintain possession of this disk at all times.
